Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting the Teacher and Lead Teacher with the care and education of the children in the Prekindergarten Program. Assist in the day-to-day implementation of the Education Component objectives for the Building Blocks, Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learners, and Opening the World of Learning teaching practices. Develop activities and strategies to involve parents in the educational aspects of the program to increase their understanding of child development and enhance their role as the principal influence in their child's education and development. Provides classroom coverage in the absence of the Teacher or Lead Teacher. Assist with the development and implementation of special events or projects related to the Prekindergarten Program. Record classroom activities and engage in ongoing staff development trainings. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with up to twelve months of relevant experience required. Must have an active preschool Child Development Associate credential or matriculated in a degree program with fifteen or more college credits towards a degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, including child growth and development. EEC preschool teacher certified preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively as a member of a teaching team, program staff, and parents. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and work in a professional manner. Must be able to engage in physical activities while attending to the needs of the center’s children and/or moving classroom equipment. Bilingual in a language spoken by families served by ABCD preferred. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Please note: These positions are forty-six (46) week school year positions.
