Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher with the care and education of the children in the Prekindergarten Program. Assist in the day-to-day implementation of the Education Component objectives for the Building Blocks, Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learners, and Opening the World of Learning teaching practices. Use diagnostic evaluations to develop long and short-term goals for each child. Develop and implement written Individual Education Plans for children with special needs. Provide training, support, and feedback with guidance from the Prekindergarten Lead Teacher, to the Teacher Assistants in understanding and implementing the program performance standards and established principles of early childhood education. Engage in coaching sessions through assessing of strengths and needs, asking questions, sharing pertinent information, reflecting, listening and identifying goals and means to achieve those goals in collaboration with the coach. Study and understand the performance standards of each curriculum and the overall program. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with nine months of relevant experience required. EEC Preschool Teacher qualified. Degree in related field requires a minimum of six courses related to Early Childhood Education that focus on child development, Early Childhood Education and curriculum, early childhood teaching and assessment, psychology, family development, health and physical development, mathematics, science or children's literature. Must be able to engage in the physical activities incident to the job. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and work in a professional manner. Bilingual in a language spoken by families served by ABCD preferred. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
