Responsible for the development and implementation of the Community Prevention Programs that focus on prevention and education activities to support the health and wellness of adolescents and young adults. Develop and implement a city wide community prevention education and outreach program- based on established program goals/objectives and emerging needs/trends identified from program, delivery and evaluation. Develop and implement educational and outreach models appropriate to the developmental, gender and cultural needs of the community/targeted populations. Ensure that the delivery of community programs are evidence-based and/or best practices. Review and update prevention plans based on community needs assessment on behavior change models, systems theory, health promotion planning tools and literature review information. Develop and implement program outreach, recruitment and marketing strategies to increase community/participant awareness of and access to services. Use various marketing methods including social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.). Prepare monthly/quarterly reports on community prevention programs for funder reporting based on funding guidelines and procedures, department and agency reporting. Design and review with evaluation team data collection tools such as survey tools and focus group/interview protocols. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in health education/counseling, human services, or related public health fields and 3 years of supervising staff required. Advanced degree preferred. Must have significant professional experience in prevention and community education. Demonstrated professional experience, leadership, and education in the delivery of sexual and reproductive health prevention and education including HIV/AIDS and STD prevention education, family planning counseling and outreach with adolescents and young adults. Demonstrated program management skills, program design and implementation and communication skills. Excellent leadership, management, interpersonal and communication skills. Experience coordinating administrative and/or programmatic tasks or projects in health and wellness areas. Bilingual skills preferred.
