Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing individualized and group instruction to adults in English as a Second Language (ESOL) classes in a back-up capacity to the regular program instructors. Document materials and resources used in lessons. Maintain accurate attendance records and student progress notes. Administer and score assessments as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
 Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education, English, social sciences or related field with at least one year of experience teaching ESOL to adults in a community based setting required. TESOL certification a plus. Master’s degree in TESOL and familiarity with Department of Elementary and Secondary Education curriculum frameworks and College and Career Readiness Standards preferred. Certification in administering and scoring the TABE Clas-E and BEST Plus 2.0 preferred. Must be able to provide group ESOL instruction to adults. Must have demonstrated knowledge of student-centered instruction with an emphasis on communicative competence and knowledge of assessment. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Please note: this position is part-time for ten (10) hours per week and is temporary until June 30, 2018. Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of additional funding.
