Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing support to fathers and father-figures of children enrolled in ABCD Head Start & Children’s Services to enhance their parenting skills and increase their capacity to be engaged in the social-emotional and developmental growth of their children. Organize, plan, and facilitate father/father-figure engagement opportunities and events such as education classes, trainings, and groups utilizing the curriculum used by the agency. Ensure father/father-figures are full partners in their own and their children’s development and learning by actively encouraging them to participate in all aspects of the Head Start program and helping them develop and reach realistic and achievable long and short term goals. Identify and collaborate with local community agencies to develop a network for advocacy, referrals, and services. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time. 

Job Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in human services, social work, psychology, Early Childhood Education or related field, with one to three years of experience working with males/fathers in a social service setting required. Experience conducting community outreach, providing parent support and education, and facilitation of groups preferred. Must be able to attend and participate in community activities, offsite trainings, professional development, and night meetings as needed. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong keyboarding skills and computer literacy with proven ability to keep accurate written records and documentation. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
