Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the job placement of skills training graduates and direct referrals. Coordinate job development efforts through development of work goals, plans, and schedules to ensure updated information and flexible strategies to attain goals and contract standards. Contact various relevant employers by telephone, solicitation letters, attending job fairs, and personal visits to develop jobs and internships for enrollees and graduates of the skills training programs. Establish relationships with local companies, professional organizations and career centers to become familiar with job opportunities and types within specific industry sectors. Conduct employment workshops to properly prepare program clients for job search, covering such topics as mock interviews, networking, proper completion of job applications and resumes, dress, hygiene, manner and attitude, etc. Create and maintain an employer data bank. Maintain thorough follow-up on client activities and employer reactions. Compile statistics and prepare reports for Deputy Director. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent college coursework in human services or related field with at least one to three years of experience in job development. Demonstrated ability to develop job opportunities with employers and to successfully match individuals with specific employment openings that meet required job specifications. Strong working knowledge of the current and local job market. Excellent written, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
