Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day implementation of the Education Component objectives for the Building Blocks, Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learners, and Opening the World of Learning curriculum, and in collaboration with the Education Supervisor, for the coaching, training, and technical assistance of Teachers, Teacher Assistants, and classroom volunteers at an assigned site. Participate and engage fellow teaching staff in trainings around each curriculum, including demonstrating commitment to trainings outside regular work hours, such as attending pre-service training and evening and weekend trainings throughout the course of the year. Ensure individualization and quality educational programming not limited to participating in the screening and educational assessment of children, developing long-and short-term goals for each child, developing and implementing lesson plans, curriculum planning and written Individual Education Plans for preschool children with special needs or Individual Family Service plans for infants/toddlers with special needs, record keeping and a minimum of two home visits per year. Check teaching team progress notes, anecdotal notes, and curriculum plans periodically. Provide orientation, guidance, support and feedback to volunteers and how they can be of assistance in the classroom. Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with at least one year of experience with preschool children for Head Start and infants/toddlers for Early Head Start required. Master’s degree preferred. EEC Director I or II certified preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively as a member of a teaching team, program staff, and parents. Must be able to engage in the physical activities incident to the job. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and work in a professional manner. Bilingual in a language spoken by families served by ABCD preferred. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Please note: These positions are forty-six (46) week school year positions.
