Overview:

Action for Boston Community Development is a nonprofit human services organization that each year provides more than 100,000 low income residents in the Greater Boston region with the tools and resources needed to transition from poverty to stability and from stability to success.

  • Responsible for managing finance, accounting, budget, payroll, treasury, and related areas
  • Maintain banking relations and manage cash
  • Manage and design accounting systems and procedures in compliance with State and Federal regulations
  • Oversee all compliance reporting including State and Federal tax filings and Federal, State, and other funding contract requirements
  • Successful completion of the annual audit and issuance of periodic financial reporting for the agency and its subsidiaries
  • Liaison for Finance/Audit Committee

Job Qualifications:
  • Substantial knowledge and at least 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in not-for-profit accounting
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing not-for-profit reporting and compliance with government contracting, especially the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards
  • Candidates must have a demonstrated ability in financial and cash management
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
