Overview:

Action for Boston Community Development is a nonprofit human services organization that each year provides more than 100,000 low income residents in the Greater Boston region with the tools and resources needed to transition from poverty to stability and from stability to success. 

Child Care Choices of Boston offers support, resources, technical assistance, training and childcare expertise to families, childcare providers, employers and the larger community. The Waitlist Specialist is responsible for contacting families on the Department of Early Education and Care Centralized Subsidy Waitlist to determine eligibility for a child care voucher assessment.

Duties include:

  • Work with families placed on the centralized subsidy waitlist to verify their enrollment information.
  • Contact families to schedule, process, and document results of family screenings related to subsidy eligibility.
  • Route calls and visitors to appropriate staff members.
  • Accurately collect and input data family information in web based, virtual waitlist.
  • Collect and maintain department files and correspondence.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and up to one year of relevant experience in an office environment preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and automated systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Bilingual skills in Haitian Creole, Chinese Mandarin or Spanish preferred.
