Overview:

Action for Boston Community Development is a nonprofit human services organization that each year provides more than 100,000 low income residents in the Greater Boston region with the tools and resources needed to transition from poverty to stability and from stability to success. 

The ABCD Family Planning Partnership (FPP) is a program of Action for Boston Community Development, a citywide anti-poverty program established in 1962. The ABCD FPP provides comprehensive family planning services and prevention education and counseling through a network of clinical sites based in the neighborhood health centers and other primary care sites throughout Boston, and in other part of the state. The Program Support Coordinator is responsible for the robust inventory system of the Family Planning Partnership. This position monitors on site perpetual contraceptive inventory and storage of supplies according to state and federal pharmacy laws.


Duties include: 

Contraceptive Supplies:

  • Manage central contraceptive warehouse; order and receive contraceptive supplies and educational materials orders, manage on-site perpetual inventory, supply storage according to state and federal pharmacy regulations and coordinating disposal of expired supplies. 
  • Manage shipments to delivery sites including ordering (processing contraceptive, educational materials, consents and fact sheets orders), overseeing the courier services, collecting outdates supplies, reviewing delivery site contraceptive logs and inventories. 
  • Maintain communication with delivery site staff. Provide technical assistance to delivery site staff regarding compliance with ABCD and pharmacy protocols, including procedures for ordering, contraceptive logs, and perpetual inventory.  
  • Ensure required payment for supplies has been received prior to ordering and check payments and necessary forms are received by ABCD fiscal staff. 
  • Conduct periodic reviews for inventory control at all delivery sites. 
  • Provide training and ongoing technical assistance to delivery site staff on program policies around supply ordering and inventory. 

Business Functions:

  • Oversee general office needs for supplies, ordering office supplies through approved vendors and coordinate maintenance of all office equipment. 
  • Monitor and update contraceptive budget and purchase orders, processing of contraceptive invoices, and budget updates of net funds received and available.
  • Prepare monthly contraceptive invoices and statements to subcontractors and monitors revenue collection, communicating with delivery sites as needed.Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time. 
     

Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma and three to five years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated maturity and understanding of the essential need to maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information at all times.
  • Keen attention to detail with demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, customer service, organizational, and critical thinking skills.  
  • Possess professional flexibility and ability to work independently as well as participate as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively over email and/or phone with delivery site and vendor staff. 
  • Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds
