Overview:

Action for Boston Community Development is a nonprofit human services organization that each year provides more than 100,000 low income residents in the Greater Boston region with the tools and resources needed to transition from poverty to stability and from stability to success. 
 
Duties include:

  • Assist in executing elements of ABCD's annual fundraising activities and help establish a functioning fund development plan.
  • Process gifts, managing the donor database system and connect programs to fundraising opportunities. 
  • Oversee the daily operations of Raiser’s Edge donor database.
  • Complete database tasks that include but are not limited to, gift entry, donor tracking, database clean up, and report preparation.
  • Optimize and document processes and systems to increase the overall effectiveness of fundraising for ABCD.
  • Complete data requests which include mailing lists, external communications and other operational needs.
  • Train staff on the proper use of Raiser’s Edge to ensure accurate data collection of constituents. 
  • Assist in the assessment of fundraising needs for ABCD Departments, Neighborhood Service Centers.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of targeted fundraising campaigns and other solicitations for ABCD.
  • Support ABCD events as needed.
  • Partner with internal departments to maximize advancement efforts and enhance work across the organization.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed.

Job Qualifications:
  • A Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 1-3 years of experience in a fundraising environment is required. 
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and/or NXT is required.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising and donor management is highly preferred. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners and donors.
  • Flexibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team and independently is required. 
  • Ability to work effectively with persons from a wide variety of backgrounds and income levels.
