Overview:

Action for Boston Community Development is a nonprofit human services organization that each year provides more than 100,000 low income residents in the Greater Boston region with the tools and resources needed to transition from poverty to stability and from stability to success. 

Duties Include:

  • Responsible for developing and enhancing opportunities for growth for individuals joining the ABCD team and for current staff to grow within the organization. 
  • Plan, develop and implement successful recruitment strategies that are reflective of and adaptive to the needs of the organization.
  • Plan, develop and implement pathways for departmental and interdepartmental growth, creating accessible systems that promote transparency and equity in career advancement.
  • Create partnerships with schools, organizations and local resources to create candidate pipelines and renew internship opportunities that will staff our programs.
  • Expand and enhance relationships with area educational institutions, corporate partners and the general public with the goal of enhancing organizational/program capacity.
  • Review, unify and expand existing onboarding processes, creating communications, resources and tools for successful entry into the organization.
  • Partner with other HR team members and management in identifying and implementing retention strategies.
  • Drive internal strategies and initiatives to expand volunteer and intern engagement, recognition programs and manager trainings.
  • Perform other related duties as requested from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Highschool Diploma/GED or equivalent and five years of experience in recruitment, interviewing, job placement or related experience required.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships both internally and externally to an organization.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage a high volume of work.
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Bilingual skills, as needed. Spanish language skills preferred.
