Action for Boston Community Development is a nonprofit human services organization that each year provides more than 100,000 low income residents in the Greater Boston region with the tools and resources needed to transition from poverty to stability and from stability to success. 

Child Care Choices of Boston offers support, resources, technical assistance, training and childcare expertise to families, childcare providers, employers and the larger community. The Program Assistant is responsible for administrative tasks related to CCCB programs and teams.

Duties Include:
  • Assist in the daily activities and administrative operations of the various teams within CCCB.
  • Oversee administrative tasks related to CCCB programs and teams, including, but not limited to, scheduling client appointments, collecting and processing client documentation, and filing.
  • Provide administrative support to the CCCB staff in completing assignments.
  • Assist Family Services Specialists with retrieving and responding to outstanding voice mails and emails.
  • Answer telephone for administrative offices and fill in for CCCB receptionist as needed.
  • Process incoming mail, which includes sorting, date stamping and distributing to appropriate staff.
  • Oversee inventory control, which includes ordering, receiving, and distribution of office and equipment supplies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma/GED or equivalent, and up to 12 months of experience with human service agency or general office support is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with an emphasis on detail.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of paperwork and consistently meet deadlines. 
  • Flexibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team required.
  • Ability to deal sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
