Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for providing general assistance to the Energy Programs Director in outreach, intake, verification and processing of all Energy Program applications and all client communication resources.
  • Provide outreach and education to potential and eligible clients and Fuel Assistance Intake Sites by telephone, mailings and meetings in regard to all Energy Programs.
  • Respond to client inquiries and initiate follow-up calls when necessary.
  • Perform client intake through face-to-face interviews while completing the Fuel Assistance application and collecting appropriate documentation for processing.
  • Assist in follow-up of Energy program applications that need additional information for completion.
  • Maintain applicant files in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that client, outreach, education and intake occur among all energy related programs.
  • Ensure all winter heating emergency calls are properly recorded, referred and resolved.
  • Assist in providing services to clients seeking utility payment management programs.
  • Provide utility queries of utility usage.
  • Assist in contacting clients participating in utility payment programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma/GED or equivalent and up to 12 months related experience in general office work required.
  • Some college coursework a plus. 
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Flexibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team required. 
  • Must be able to deal sensitively with clients of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
  • Bilingual skill in Mandarin or Cantonese is preferred.
