The MassHire Metro North Career Center connects qualified job seekers with employers, providing the tools and resources needed to start a career, increase skills or find a new job. 

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for assisting and referring clients to public agencies/community-based organizations that provide direct assistance with the mitigation of social service needs.
  • Provide one-on-one assessments, coaching, and case management services to assigned clients (jobseekers) of the Metro North Career Center to which she or he is assigned.
  • Assist in the identification of educational, job training, and occupational objectives in coordination with the client’s assigned Career Advisor.
  • Utilize client’s engagement vis-à-vis the Metro North Career Center to identify supportive service needs, provide related counseling as required, and make appropriate referrals.
  • Establish and maintain consistent contact with assigned client population to ensure the prompt identification, mitigation, and/or resolution of social support needed.
  • Maintain an up-to-date file on each client assigned from inception of services through a minimum of sixty days post placement into employment.
  • Conduct support workshops, as necessary, for the diverse population of clients – the workshops shall be designed to establish peer support. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
  • A Minimum of High School Diploma/GED, or equivalent is required.
  • An Associate's degree in Education, Counseling, Human Services or related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in providing case management, case coordination, constituent services required.   
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service, establish appropriate boundaries with customers, and to demonstrate innovation and flexibility.
  • Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred, but not required.
