ABCD offers a range of programs to help the youth of Boston stay in school, prepare for a career, and build a strong foundation for a successful future.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for assessing the needs, skills, and barriers of participants and jointly determines the appropriate pathway, support services, and resources needed to ensure the participants’ success. Work with individuals in their caseload for the duration of their participation in programs, and help organize and coordinate services to reduce fragmentation.
  • Recruit potential youth participants.
  • Provide orientation, screening, intake and assessment for potential program participants.
  • Identify and prioritize a participant’s goals, personal strengths, needs, and barriers.
  • Develop an Individual Service Strategy (ISS) of action through which the participant will use their strengths and overcome barriers in route to achieving their goals.
  • Identify, within and outside of ABCD, the resources needed to pursue those goals.
  • Write case notes for each youth that accurately reflect the youth’s progress, issues and overall program performance.
  • Utilize an agreed upon coaching model to assist the participants in changing habits while reducing the participant’s dependency upon the case manager before the end of the program.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
  • A minimum of one to three years of relevant experience and a high school diploma or equivalent and some college coursework or professional certification required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in education, social work, human services, social science or related field strongly preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills and entrepreneurial talents.
  • Willingness to take risks and develop new initiatives.
  • Careful attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, as well as strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with groups and individuals of diverse economic, social, and cultural backgrounds.
