ABCD Head Start & Children's Services is a family development program serving children from birth to age five, as well as pregnant women. Part of a highly successful national program, we provide comprehensive services to the whole family and foster a safe, creative learning environment to support children in school readiness and their social-emotional development. We are looking for dedicated individuals who want to make a meaningful impact on the communities we serve!

Essential Duties:
  • Responsible for ensuring that food arrives to the assigned locations in a safe and appropriate manner, that children receive nutritious meals in a timely manner and that the prevention of foodborne illnesses is of the highest priority.
  • Deliver supplies to sites as needed.
  • Store food and equipment appropriately in an organized manner both in the vehicle as well as at the program.
  • Return food containers to the kitchen daily.
  • Maintain established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation.
  • Conduct inventory, complete food temperature log, and deliver food to classrooms.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and up to twelve months of experience required.
  • Active ServSafe certification or the ability to obtain a ServSafe certification within the first six months of employment also required.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be flexible, prompt and reliable.
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of car insurance and a good driving record required.
  • Must be able to provide one’s own transportation.
  • Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
